Welcome to my fist blog where I shall share all my painful acne memories.
I had acne for as long as I can remember so you can bet that six months after it cleared up I threw a huge party. I had to be sure those evil pustules were not coming back.
When my acne was bad I spend all my time thinking about ways to prevent acne as it hurt every where those damn spots appeared.
What I really hated was when the ugly red spots were all around my nose and mouth as my confidence to face the world was at an all time low during those time.
It was also a time I felt obliged to try out many zit remedies including putting toothpaste, caster oil, and a tomato mask on my face.
I was constantly terrified my acne would turn into acne scars.
Over the years the so called specialists told me I had different forms of acne not only did I find that confusing; I didn’t know who to believe.
First my doctor told me it was a part of growing up and that I shouldn’t worry to much about it as that would only make it worse. I had a face like the Himalayas and this ‘expert’ is telling me it’s normal.
NORMAL!
I hid in the house for the full duration of my teenage year and my early twenties and that my friend is not normal.
Needless to say I ended up at the dermatologists office. He was a friendly fellow that smelled of lavender. Ok; I don’t know what lavender smells like all I know was that he smelled of nice unscented soap.
I waited a long time as I heard they were no better than doctors and that if they prescribed the wrong treatment you could get severe acne.
The truth is I was performing home scar treatment due to a very bad out break one day and my mother caught me putting rubbing alcohol over my spots. She yelled at me and called me an idiot and told me to get over my fears then she made an appointment with the dermatologist.
My acne never got any worse but it never got any better. The cycle of bearable acne to unbearable acne would continue for another couple of years until I found the magic bullet that would work for me.
